Cincuenta y cuatro instalaciones de alojamiento turístico de Santo Domingo, Santiago, Puerto Plata, Sosúa, Las Terrenas, Samaná y Río San Juan fueron evaluadas en la primera ronda de aplicación del Sistema Nacional de Clasificación Hotelera (SNCH), que inició el 31 de julio y concluyó la última semana de agosto pasado.
Gracias a esa iniciativa de la Secretaría de Estado de Turismo, el país podrá exhibir una infraestructura hotelera clasificada por rango de estrellas, en función de los estándares infraestructurales y de servicios vigentes a escala internacional.
De Santo Domingo fueron evaluados en esta primera ronda los hoteles Hilton, Jaragua, V Centenario, Lina Barceló, Meliá y Dominican Fiesta. En Santiago los hoteles Hodelpa Centro Plaza, Hodelpa Gran Almirante, Platino, Colonial Deluxe, Los Jardines y el Courtyard.
De los de Puerto Plata fueron inspeccionados el Occidental C. On The Green, Puerto Plata Village, Occidental Flamenco, Gran Ventana, Casa Colonial, Fun Royal Tropical, Tropical Playa Dorada, Holiday Village Golden Beach, Occidental Allegro Playa, Villas Doradas, Viva Wyndham, Lifestyle Hacienda Tropical, Oasis Marien, Hotel Riu Mambo, Iberostar Costa Dorada, Riu Merengue, Riu Bachata, Victoria Resort.
En tanto, en Sosúa el Apartahotel Romanoff y los hoteles Piergiogio, Sosúa By The Sea, Sosua Bay Club, Casa Marina Beach Sosua, Casa Marina Reef, Casa Tropical Laguna, Breezes, Viva Wyndham, Don Antonio, Waterfront, Don Andrés.
De Las Terrenas las instalaciones del Gran Bahía, Residence Colibrí, Las Cayenas, Aligio, Bahía Estela, y del Hotel Atlantis; mientras que de Samaná Cayo Levantado, Casa Marina Bay, Plaza Lucitania, Palococo y Cayacoa. Y, en Río San Juan, los hoteles Edén Bay y Bahía Príncipe.
El Sistema Nacional de Clasificación Hotelera es una iniciativa de alcance general, consensuado con el sector privado, que contribuirá a optimizar la relación comercial entre los hoteleros y los propios usuarios, en beneficio de las empresas, sus empleados, y por tanto de la imagen turística y la economía del país.
